COVID 19 - Operational changes at Hyder & Overas

With the developing COVID-19 situation, our highest priority is to keep our clients, employees and their families as safe as possible. We are closely following and assessing the challenges to our law firm and community, and we are committed to serving those who need our help.

As the Law Offices of Hyder & Overas stays open for business, please be assured that we are taking every precaution to minimize the risks of COVID-19 transmission.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), we have implemented the following changes so as to limit the amount of person to person contact as per the CDC recommendations. The following has been designed so we can effectively limit the spread of the virus in order to protect your safety, that of your family and our staff:

Appointments:

All appointments will be handled via telephone only. Please call our office and we will schedule a day and time for you to call our office for your phone appointment. The legal assistants are not currently taking in person visits from clients, so if you have a question about your case please call our office to speak to the assistant working on your case. Please do NOT come to the office without calling us first as we will not be able to see you.

Documents / forms:

Please mail the requested documents and forms to our office. Do NOT come to the office to physically return them. If you need a prepaid envelope to return those, please let us know and we will be happy to provide it to you. If possible, please feel free to email or text* the documents to us at info@hyderlaw.com or the direct email address of the attorney. The documents and information can also be faxed to us at: (804) 282-3231.
*To text the documents: please take a picture of the documents with your phone, open your text messaging app, and enter our email address instead of a phone number.

Payments:

We have several ways of making payments (both of the attorney fees and immigration filing fees) that do not require for you to come in person.

  • You can mail a check, cashier's check or money order to our office. Please be sure to include your name and phone number with the payment so we can call you if we have questions.
  • Payments can be made by phone using any major credit or debit card. Please call our office to make payments by phone.
  • You can also make a payment through our online payment system, LawPay, with any major debit / credit card. Please call our office at and we will send you the online link to make the payment towards your account.
  • If none of the above options are possible, we will make special arrangements to accept cash payments in person. We are open Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. PLEASE CALL our office before coming in to make such payment.

We appreciate your help and cooperation during these challenging times. We hope that these measures will allow us to continue serving our clients throughout these challenging circumstances. We will be monitoring the situation closely and will send updates if anything changes.
